Users and roles

In this system, we have users and specific connections between users and customers. A user can be connected to any number of customers. Each connection between a user and a customer (customer user) has one of two types:

  • Manager: this type of customer user has full access to the customer's data, and can manage users, add or remove connections, and more.
  • Translator: this type of customer user is only supposed to access the translation features of the system. Customer users of this type can also be assigned roles that specify what actions they can perform.

Roles

For each project connected to a customer, there are three types of language-based permissions that can be assigned to 'Translator' customer users:

  • Viewing: allows the user to view translations in the project for specified languages.
  • Editing: allows the user to edit translations in the project for specified languages.
  • Approving: allows the user to approve translations in the project for specified languages.

These roles can be managed in the 'Organisation' settings when logged in as a 'Manager' customer user. The 'Manager' customer users can assign or remove these roles for all the users connected to the customer.
